Research and Markets: By 2010, China's Total Adhesive and Sealant Demand Will Probably Hit 7.3 Milli

The adhesive industry has become one of the best growing key petrochemical industries of China. It has been developing new products, improving production technologies and enlarging the application field continuously.

It is predicted that the demand for all kinds of adhesives and sealants is to maintain a 10%-plus annual growth during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan period from 2006 to 2010. By 2010, the total adhesive and sealant will probably hit 7.3 million tons, with the average annual growth keeping at 11.5%; and the sales revenue is to hike to CNY 57 billion, with the average annual growth no less than 11.8%. By then, China will become the largest producer of adhesive and sealant in the world, with the sales revenue ranking at the third position.

Also, it is said that by 2010, wood-processing-veneer will need 3.33 million tons of adhesive and sealant; construction, construction material and dope need 2 million tons; package and trademarks, 890,000 tons; shoemaking and leather, 430,000 tons; transport and conveyance, 240,000 tons; paper process and bookbinding, 150,000 tons; installation of mechanics, electric equipment and meters, 127,000 tons; civilian use, 53,000 tons and others, 80,000 tons.
